This from our neighbor Alyza again. Here is her video and link to the Bodies Born to Rise indiegogo campaign. Wishing her all the best in reaching her goal!
I cannot pass up the opportunity to share this video. When both of my children were younger, toddler to elementary age, they used to sing Johnny Cash in the car as we drove about town…they were not quite as skilled as singers in this video, but it always made me smile. Jenni and I are amused at the irony of men seeming to sing this song more than women, considering the analogy to the final stages of pushing a baby out!
At our recent Central Texas Midwives monthly gathering, this time at Thai Fresh on South Fifth and Mary (YUM!), we sang a song written by one of our Canadian midwife sisters, Sarilyn Zimmerman, in support of International Day of the Midwife, May 5th. This year at the International Confederation of Midwives Triennial Congress in Prague, Czech Republic, May 31- June 5, the organizers have planned to convene the largest choir of midwives on record to sing to all moms and babies around the world. Jenni and I will be there and we’ll be sure to share pictures!
